Mary Elizabeth Jack, 74, of Marion, formerly of Cedar Grove, died at 9:30 a.m. today in the home of her daughter, Betty Kelton, of 704 N. Johnson St., Marion.
Mrs. Jack was born June 1, 1901, in Murphysboro, to John and Kate Will LaBotte. On Oct., 18, 1919, in Marion, she married Ernest Jack. He preceded her in death in November, 1965.
Mrs. Jack was a member of the Cedar Grove Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Murle of Marion, Harry of Houston, Tex., and Jerry of Mexico; daughters, Helen of Carterville, Betty Kelton of Marion, Ethel Bloodworth of New Burnside and Sandy Smiley of Marion; brothers, Jake LaBotte of Cedar Grove and Harry LaBotte of Benton; a sister, Katie Parola of Herrin; and 27 grandchildren and 18 grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were sons, Frances, Ralph, Eddie Lee, Earl and Hobart, who was killed in action in North Africa during World War II, and two brothers and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Wilson Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.
Friends may call at the funeral home between 6 and 9 p.m. Saturday.
