William Henry Statzer died at his home in the city on the evening of Apr. 16, at an age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days. Born in Geneva, Ill., Oct. 7,1846, his home has been in the county for many years. He continued unusually active for one of his age, being about home and the city to within a few days before his death. For the past 45 years he has been a resident of the city.
On Mar. 22 1874 he was united in marriage to Emily Able. Four children were born to the union. Lillian died several years ago and Everett, the oldest son, died three years ago. His wife and companion of many years and two children, Frank of the city, and Mrs. Kathleen Clark of Mason City, Iowa, survive. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the home conducted by Rev. Wilson Emigholz with burial in the city cemetery.
Out of town people here for the funeral were Mrs. Mollie Stocking and Mrs. Gordon Barry of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Austin of Woodstock, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kidd, Mrs. Leatherberry and Mr. and Mrs. Grant Austin of Rockbridge, and Mrs. Kathleen Clark of Mason City, Iowa.
