MRS. RUDD

BROOKSVILLE -- Shirley Temple DeLisle Rudd crossed over to Gloryland on April 5, 2011. She had been a resident of Bracken County Nursing and Rehab for over two years and resided at Ohio Valley Manor for five years prior.

Parkinson's disease robbed her of many things, but not her strong spirit and sweet smile and occasional wink.

She was born in the big house on the DeLisle curve in Bracken County on May 18, 1935 to the late Twinkle and Serepta Todd DeLisle. She was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and United Methodist Women.

She and Billie Franklin Rudd were united in marriage on Jan. 12, 1952. He went to Gloryland on Feb. 23, 1976. She was a devout Christian woman, friend and mother to her three daughters, and a loving grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah (Tom) Rudd Cortner of Brooksville, Vicki (Rod) Rudd Estep McLain of Columbia, S.C., Melinda (Rick) Jo Rudd Kurtz of Brooksville; and their half-brother Michael (Cheri) Glenn Workman of Cynthiana; grandchildren, Laura (Jerry) McDowell Teegarden of Brooksville, Michael (Becky) McDowell of Flemingsburg; step-granddaughter Cathy Cortner of Fort Payne Ala., Scott (Michelle) Estep of Lexington, Joshua (Mironda) Estep of Columbia, and Gracie Kurtz of Brooksville; great-grandchildren, Mollie Jane Teegarden, Joseph Scolf, Kelsey and Ben Dryden, Anderson, Baily and Claire Estep, Vince and Alex Harper, Lethea and Erica Cortner of Fort Payne. She is also survived by her older sister, Margaret Moore of Brooksville.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rougett and James DeLisle.

Services will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday at the Concord United Methodist Church Brooksville.

Visitation will be from 3 - 5 p.m., Sunday at the church.
