Funeral services were held in the Old Friendship United Baptist
Church on August 29 for Virginia Louise Mollett Amburgey, a former
school teacher and citizen of Thelma for the past ten years.

Nim Sturgill, Arthur Preece and Buell Ferguson officiated at the
services, and the Preston Funeral Home was in charge of burial in
the Dennie Pigg Cemetery at Boons Camp.

Mrs. Amburgey, who was 43 years old, had been ill for the past year.

She was born in Weeksbury to the late William Mollett and Jeanette Branham Mollett. Her husband, who survives, is Winfred Amburgey.

Other survivors include two sons, Roger Amburgey of Bluffton, Indiana, and Adrin Van Amburgey, at home; one daughter from home, Susan Lynette Amburgey; five brothers, Bill Moilett of Columbus, Ohio, Van Mollett of Galion, Ohio, Robert Mollett of Williamsport, Charles Mollett from Thelma, and Earnest Mollett of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters, Marie Little from Wheelright, Beatrice Huddleston of Spring Valley, Ohio, Pearl Little of Wheelright, and Betty Slone of
Columbus, Ohio. Two grandchildren survive also.
