Services for Lester Racine Kellogg, 78, of Hamilton, Il., were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 1988, at the Lamporte Funeral Home in Nauvoo, Il. The Revs. Mary Boyer and Bill Yanney officiated. Burial was in Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Cemetery, Niota, Il.
Mr. Kellogg died at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, December 4, 1988, at Ft. Madison Community Hospital.
He was born December 2, 1909, at Hamilton, Il. He worked for Ford Motor Co. in Chicago for 15 years and operated the Phillips 66 service station in Niota for 28 years. He was of the Christian faith.
On June 10, 1933, at Niota, he married Ruth Elizabeth Tanner, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter of Keokuk, Ia.; a sister, Mrs. Loren (Mary) Hardy of Hammond, Ind; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister. His parents were Grant P. and Ella Datin Kellogg.
The family met friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Lamporte Funeral Home.
A memorial is being established with the Appanoose Faith Presbyterian Church.
