Genealogy and regional history are my passions. I have done research and writing for the past thirty years. I began by learning abt families that built old houses i lived in and helped to restore. One day I realized I knew far more abt those people than I did my own family.

So the emphasis shifted... Fortunately, I only have one family member who ever went west of the Ohio River. I now live within four hours of every ancestors' homes. The states I focus on are Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The countries include Germany, Scotland, England, and Ireland, where my ancestors were either Scots or Germans.

I belong to several historical societies and enjoy writing stories for their journals. I like to travel to homelands of my ancestors. I serve as a DAR Registrar and work with others on lineage.
