Bio

I grew up about a block from the Mexico Village Cemetery. My parents would visit the cemetery weekly to water grandparents' flowers and visit my brother's grave so the cemetery became a familiar and friendly place to play when I was little. In 2020, with the pandemic limiting other activities, I turned to gently cleaning headstones and starting a social media page for the Mexico Cemetery. I particularly search for graves of children and Civil War vets and clean monuments that memorialize them. They should be remembered by someone so perhaps giving them a clean stone will draw others' attention to them. I spend as much time there as I can and have learned a lot about the history of Mexico and the citizens who are no longer with us in life but are bound to us in death.
