Bio

Some may find it odd, but I love to visit cemeteries and graveyards, which my mother and I refer to as "Graveyard Hopping." There is something so peaceful about walking among rows of headstones, though I have had a few times that I have felt the push to leave.
I focus my genealogy research on my family, VanHoose, Blevins, Sexton, and Smith, as well as Church, Meade, Bartley, and Laney/DeLaney of eastern Kentucky. For me, this spans Johnson, Magoffin, Floyd, and Pike counties, but reaches as far north as New York and as far back as ancient Wales.
The memorials that I have added are those directly related to me, ones that I want to be able to care for even after they have gone on.
However, from time to time, I may add a memorial that has not been added by others, but found by myself.
