Bio

I like to consider myself the family genealogist, walking in my grandfather's footsteps. I wish he were still alive today as there are so many great resources for finding ancestors.

My focus is on the Whitehurst and Shaeffer lines, as my grandfather, Robert Whitehurst, was descended from Abraham Ream Whitehurst and Mary LaRue Shaeffer. I'm blessed to share my middle name with my great grandmother, as it is a tie to my family I wish I could have known. All I have left are stories and what I manage to find through my research.

Names of interest:
Maternal: Whitehurst, Shaeffer, Helm, Redsecker, McIlvain, Byndloss, Quinlan, Dwyer, Morais
Paternal: Rossin/Rossino, Hebing, Barone, Horten
