Actress. She was best known to both film and television viewers for the numerous roles she had on both the "big" and "small" screens during a career that spanned seven decades. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and participated in the university's theater program. She went on to perform on the local stage in southern California before signing with Paramount Pictures. In 1950, she made her television debut on the television series "The Goldbergs." She went on to appear in many television series, throughout her career, such as "Saints and Sinners," "The Fugitive," "Batman," "Peyton Place," "Marcus Welby, M.D.," "Ironside," "Medical Center," "Flamingo Road," "Fantasy Island," "All My Children," and "7th Heaven." A year later, in 1951, she made her film debut in "Quebec." She later appeared in such films as "When Worlds Collide," "It Came from Outer Space," "Robin and the 7 Hoods," and "Hombre." She earned a Golden Globe Award in 1954 for her role in "It Came from Outer Space." She also appeared on the theatrical stage, both on- and off-Broadway throughout her career.
