Work went rapidly in 1963-64 to build a nursing center of 63 beds ... Land was purchased at the south edge of Montrose from the Hawley farm ... There was, still a little private cemetery down over the hill to the south with only a few persons, including Dr. Asa Park, wife, daughter and brother-in-law, the first sheriff of Susquehanna County and his wife. Dr. Asa Park was an early doctor in our town. So the Medical Arts Nursing Center became Asa park Manor."
