The first interment was in February 1962 - of James Roberts, the son of Willie and Letha Jo Roberts. In 1972, the statue of Jesus, made of Carrara marble and imported from Italy, was given to the cemetery by Don Williams and Bob Anderson.
Later the cemetery was sold to Clyde and Dickie Magness, who, in turn, donated it to the City of Farwell. In 1986, the city council, under the direction of mayor Chris Gikas, arranged for the erection of the fence, which added much to the beauty of the cemetery.
The cemetery is currently owned and maintained by the City of Farwell.
