Robert (Bob) LeRoy Bergman, 76, of Alvarado, MN passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at his farm.
Bob was born on May 4, 1936 in Oslo, MN and was the son of Theodore and Evelyn (Narveson) Bergman. He attended Alvarado Public School. Bob married Sharon (Olson) on October 26, 1957.
Bob served in and was honorably discharged from the US Army. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church, served on the Alvarado City Council, and was a member of the Alvarado Lion's Club.
Bob's career and passion was in farming. That passion continued after retirement as he took such great pride in his garden. Bob loved sports and it was shown in his years playing baseball. Bob loved animals, playing cards, meeting his friends for coffee, fishing, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Left to mourn his passing are his children, Dean (Lorrie) Bergman of Alvarado, MN, Melanie (Melvin) Metz of Alvarado, Jill (Roger) Fanfulik of Alvarado, and Brenda (Daryl) Bergman Veitz of Grand Forks; brothers, Donald Bergman of Warren, and Orvis Bergman of Grand Forks; sister, Betty (Robert) Gowan of Minot, ND; grandchildren, Chelsey Bergman, Adam (Rachael) Bergman, Emily Bergman, Nicole Reardon, Alyssa Reardon, Kacie Reardon, Dustin Fanfulik, Samantha Fanfulik, Jaelyn Bergman, Ashlyn Veitz, Jace Berge and Benjamin Bergman Veitz; and great grandchild Murphy Bergman.
Preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; infant daughter Carol Ann; brother Ken Bergman; sister, Lois Gould; and sister-in-law LaVonne Bergman.
