Funeral services for James Bartlett, 82, prominent citizen of the Dry Valley section and one of Putnam's most highly respected men, were conducted at the Dry Valley church Sunday afternoon with burial in the family cemetery.
Mr Bartlett died in the City hospital Saturday afternoon after a long illness. His wife, Fannie Bohannon Bartlett, died 3 months ago.
He was a native of Putnam and had been active in the upbuilding of his section of the county. He was a member of the Brown's Mill Baptist Church from an early age and remained active until overtaken by illness.
