Daughter of Dr. Alexander Glas Strachan and Sarah Sally Feild.

She married Robert Lewis Madison of Culpepper, Virginia. He died in 1828 in Orange, Virginia.

They had 3 sons: Thomas Cooper Madison, William Alexander Madison and Robert Lewis Madison, Jr.

Robert L Madison was a nephew of President James Madison. The President's will left monies to be used for the education of these three boys. After their mother died of uterine cancer in 1837, their care was left to their uncle, Robert Glas Strachan.
