Mrs. Barbara N. Hoblitzell (nee Nugey) of Westfield, formerly of Rahway and East Orleans, Mass., died Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Genesis Healthcare Westfield Center. She was 79. Thence to St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rahway, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery, Clark. Mrs. Hoblitzell was born and raised in Rahway, where she lived until moving to Westfield in 2000. While in Rahway, she was very active in the Rahway Hospital Auxiliary. She also served as a substitute teacher in the Rahway school system. She was a graduate of Marymount College in Tarrytown, N.Y., in 1950 and worked as a self-employed antiques dealer for many years. Mrs. Hoblitzell was predeceased by her beloved husband, William C. Jr. in 2000; her brother, Anthony Nugey, and sister, Rose Donovan. She is survived by her loving sons, William C. III and his wife, Maryann of Freehold; A. Todd and his wife, Anne of Scotch Plains and Russell and his wife, Krista of Lansdale, Pa. She was also loved by her six grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Matthew, Elizabeth, Taylor and Paige.
