Shirley was a faithful parishioner of Saint John Vianney Catholic Church and the Women's Club. She also volunteered at Memorial Hermann Hospital - Memorial City for over 40 years. She was also involved with many civic organizations including the Meadow Wood Elementary School PTA, a Girl Scouts Leader and the Nottingham Forest Association. She loved to play tennis and bridge. One of Shirley's many remarkable attributes was that she never spoke ill of any person.
Shirley is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Struffolino of 61 years, her wonderful children, Rosemary Blum and her husband Mike, Michael Struffolino and his wife, Sharla; her beautiful grandchildren, David & Brian Blum, Elizabeth, Michael & Lauren Struffolino; her sisters, Roberta Ogden, Roseann Ruedy and her husband Kenneth; numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Farmer.
A Memorial Mass for Shirley will be held on Wednesday, April, 3rd, 2013 at 10:30AM at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, TX. 77079. A reception will immediately follow the Mass. An inurnment will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2013 at 11:00AM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX. 77038.
