Son of James Sheldon Tait & Anna C. Hibberd. He married Frankie Ethel Avery on February 27th, 1913. They had two children, Forest and Wayne. After Frankie's death, Worthy married Sarah Jane Shannon on April 14th, 1925. They had three children together, Boyd, Alice, and Worthy Jr.
He was a highly respected and widely known Auctioneer in Caro.
