Edith was a daughter of William and Nellie (Phillips) Richards. Her first husband Rollin Hamsher was killed in action in World War II, and her second husband John Hamsher also preceded her in death, January 29, 2002. She's survived by two daughters and two sons. One son, Bruce Wynn Hamsher, died in infancy. Edith was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover, where she was an active volunteer in outreach ministries, Circle Leader and Women's Fellowship.
