Nippa resident, Edna Mae Issacs Castle, 78, died Thursday, April 2 in Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Castle was born May 13, 1913 in Lawrence County, the daughter of Lewis Issacs and Louvernia McKenzie. She was a member of the Cannons Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linzie Castle. Surviving are seven sons, Linzie Castle, Jr., of Volga, Jack, Charles and Thomas Castle, all of Nippa, James Castle of Stambaugh, Willie Castle of Sitka, and Walter Castle of Wittensville, nine daughters, Louvernia Burchett and Louise Burchett both of Stambaugh, Marilyn Stambaugh of Flat Gap, Joyce Stambaugh of Sitka, Pearliene Blanton of Nippa, Faye Sprivey of Tulsa, OK, Mae Daniels of Lowmansville, Okie I. Iddner of Hillsboro, OH and Pauliene Cald, one brother, Ernest J. VanHoose and one sister, Gertrude VanHoose of River. Funeral services were held Sunday, April 5 in Cannons Chapel, with Delbert Music, Tommy VanHoose and James Kelly Caudill and Todd Scarberry officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery at Nippa, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, April 15, 1992
