Alice Kostrzewski, 92, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN.
Alice was born on March 13, 1921 in Warsaw, ND, the daughter of John and Margaret (Dauksavage) Pokrzywinski. She attended country school in Warsaw until they moved to Bigwoods, MN area before moving to Argyle. Alice married Steve Kostrzewski on July 16, 1940 in Oslo, MN. They made their home in Florian, MN for several years before moving to Argyle. Steve died on June 7, 1991.
She loved working in her flowers and vegetable gardens, making pickles and listening to polka and waltz music. Alice enjoyed doing crafts and visiting with family and friends. She loved Jesus with all her heart.
Left to mourn her passing are her children; Julian "Sonny" (Debra) Kostrzewski of Argyle, MN, Jeanette (Jim) Asp of Thief River Falls, MN, Richard (Cheryl) Kostrzewski of Rosewood, MN, Jerry (Ellette) Kostrzewski of Thief River Falls, MN, Rosemary Kostrzewski of Wadena, MN and Gary Kostrzewski (special friend, Jane Vendell) of Shoreview, MN; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Kostrzewski of Warren, MN; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Geraldine (Raphael) Topka, Peter (Lola Mae) Pokrzywinski, Loretta (Elmer) Kostrzewski of Argyle, MN and Alex Pokrzywinski and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve, son, Daniel; five grandchildren; siblings, Julian, Chester, Louis, Leonard, Sarah and Dorothy and special friend, Harry Syverson.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 AM on Friday, July 12, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Argyle, MN. VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with a 6:15 Rosary and 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Thursday at the church and one hour before services on Friday. INTERMENT: St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Argyle, MN.
