Peter Pokrzywinski, 88, formerly of Argyle, MN, died on January 5, 2020, in Providence Hospital, Everett, WA, after a prolonged series of illnesses.
Peter Paul was born on September 9, 1931, to John and Margaret (Dauksavage) Pokrzywinski, in Warsaw, ND. He was raised north of Oslo, MN, before moving to Argyle as a boy. He attended St. Rose Catholic grade school and began working from a young age. His first real employment (apart from odd jobs around town) was as a farm laborer, where he picked potatoes for 3¢ a bushel from sunrise to sunset. In his later years he worked construction, paving I-94 from Moorhead to Bismark.
In 1952, Peter joined the US Army and was transferred to Fort Benning, GA for almost a year. He was unfortunately injured during a training exercise and was honorably discharged, returning to his home, Argyle. He was married to Stella Donarski in June of 1955, in Florian, MN. They made their home in Argyle and raised a family.
Following his divorce, Peter was set up with his mother's neighbor, Lolamae Beaudry. From 1972 onward, the two were inseparable. She even asked him to quit drinking and smoking, for which he was very thankful. In addition to traveling or going to the casino, Peter and Lola liked to go to their place at Lake of the Woods, play cards and games, visit with friends, and take care of their “puppy,” Missy. The three of them moved into the North Star Apartments in Warren, MN, in June, 2017. Lolamae passed away on February 6, 2018, and Peter continued to live in Warren until October, 2018, when he moved to Washington State to live near Donna Beaudry and receive closer care.

Peter is survived by his children, Rolland Pokrzywinski, Annette Maurstad, Monica Mock, Louisa Stadum, and Linda Pokrzywinski; several grandchildren; his former wife, Stella Fitzsimmons; Lola's children; siblings, Loretta Kostrzrewski, and Geraldine Topka and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; partner of 40 plus years, Lolamae Beaudry; and siblings, Julian, Leonard, Chester, Louis, Alex, Sarah Lindemoen, Alice Kostrzewski and Dorothy Stancyk.
