Roscoe D Keith, 90, died at 3:25 am Thursday at Grandview Extendicare. He had lived at 1038 Elk Street, but had been at Grandview since March 1978. Born in Franklin Nov. 16, 1888, he was a son of Heister and Rachel Dotson Keely Keith.
He attended Sugarcreek Township schools, worked many years for Chicago Railway Equipment Co., retired, then worked for a number of concerns in the Franklin area. Well known as an outstanding marksman, he enjoyed hunting, and was particularly proud of his garden.
On October 10, 1912, he married Pearl M. August, who survives, with two sons, Donald T. Keith of Franklin, and Rollin W. Keith of Sharpsville; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy S. Eckel and Mrs. Richard L. (Joan) Smith, both of Franklin; a brother, Clifford Keith of Romoland, CA; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Deceased are a daughter, Mrs. Roland (Rosie) Reynolds, two sisters, and three brothers.
Services will be at Huff Chapel with Rev. Victor Redfoot of Seneca United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
