Served Battery C, 1st Reg. France, July 14 1918 to Aug. 2 1918. Battery C, 29th Reg. Aug. 2 1918 to Jan 28 1919. Discharged Sergeant, Battery C, 29th Field Artillery.

Years In Prescott:

His Father brought his family to Prescott, Wi when he became Minister of The 1st Congregational Church (now UCC). Rev. Evert began serving the church, Nov. 23, 1913 until Apr. 22, 1919. Harry attended school for 6 years in Prescott becoming a Prescott High graduate in 1917. During those years the Evert & a family named Castelloe, who were members of the church, became friends. Harry related Jessamine Castelloe provided the 1st meal for the Evert family when they arrived in town. Jessamine had a daughter, Dorothe who was the same age as Harry. They naturally became friends, as a few photos in Dorothe's high school photo album show. After graduation Harry lived & worked on a farm for $25 a month. Harry grew tired of farm work & it was war time enlisting in WWI. At this point Dorothe & Harry moved on to create their own individual lives. Harry to War, Dorothe to college. The Evert family remained friends with the Castelloe family for the remainder of their lives. Harry & Dorothe remained in contact thru the War years & the years after.

After WWI:

Harry returned to Prescott & enrolled in college for a 3 year college certificate. He quit college as he got mad at the American History Professor 'cause "his general attitude was no good". About this time Harry's father was transferred to another church in Eastern Wisconsin & Harry moved with them. Eventually marrying Delores Law, who became the Mother of his children. Dorothe & Harry remained in contact for 40 years & eventually married in 1960.......
