He married his first wife Elsie Hamlin around 1849-1850. The couple had 3 children together, Mary, Frank, and Kate.
Elsie died in 1863 at the young age of 32.
Lafayette then remarried in 1864 to Sylvinia Fox. The couple had 5 children together; Marcus, Merton, George, Glennie, and Emerson. The two were married until his death in 1898.
Lafayette was the brother of my 2nd Great Grandfather, making him my 3rd Great Uncle.
