Roy Music, 78, died Tuesday, September 25, 1979 at his Nippa residence. Mr. Music was born March 9, 1901, in Johnson County,the son of Arch and Rosie Castle Music. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife,,Nancy Moore Music, four sons, Roy, Jr., Paintsville, Clarence, Nippa, James Paul, Springfield,OH, and Jerry, Van Lear;six daughters,Helen Jacovitch, Pageton,WV, Opal Caudill, Nippa, Pauline Kennedy, South Carolina, Jackie Frye, Martin, Sherlene Solomen, Columbus,OH, and Gwendolyn Salyers, Lexington; two sisters, Audrey Moore and Rachel Music, Nippa; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 28, in Staffordsville Freewill Baptist Church with Reverends James Crider and Don Fraley officiating. Burial was in Meadows Cemetery, Nippa, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home handling arrangements.
