Florence, Sept. 8 – Daniel Polly, one of our oldest citizens, died Sunday evening, after a brief illness, aged 87 years. He was born in Massachusetts and came to this town 58 years ago. He was a harness maker and worked a great many years at his trade in this village. He was a quiet man and was respected by all who knew him. Besides a widow he leaves one son, Edward of Washington Mills, to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate husband and father. The funeral occurred yesterday, from the M. E. Church at 1:30 p.m., Rev. G. W. Bent officiating. The remains were interred in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
