Echo Lofthus, 82, of Oslo, MN, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND. Echo Sather was born on May 30, 1927 in Big woods Township, Marshall County, MN, the daughter of Albin and Sophie (Avdem) Sather. She was a life long resident of the Oslo area where she also attended school. On February 9, 1947, Echo was united in marriage to Leeward Lofthus. They made their home in rural Oslo. In 1996, they moved into Oslo. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she enjoyed quilting with the church group. Echo loved spending time with her family and friends. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, Leeward; three daughters, Diane (Robert) Bredeson of Mesa, AZ, Jill (John) Hughes of Roseville, MN and Mary (Pete) Antonson of Northwood, ND; five grandchildren, Joseph (Libby) Hughes, Amy (Matt) Hughes, Andy Bredeson, Nikki Antonson and Eric Antonson; two great-grandchildren, Clara Hughes and Henry Hughes; brother, Norman Sather of Oslo, MN and sister, Norma Burris of Collierville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence. Funeral Service 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN. Visitation One hour before services at the church. Interment Granville Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oslo, MN. Arrangements with DuBore Funeral Home of Warren, MN.
