Melvin W. Weaver, 86, of 33444 Township Rd. 232, Fresno, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2002, at 1:38 A.M. in Union Hospital Emergency Department after an apparent heart attack.Born July 29, 1916, in Holmes County, he was a son of the late Samuel and Katie Miller Weaver. He was a retired farmer and truck driver. Melvin attended Fiat St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Fiat and was an Army veteran of World War II.He is survived by his wife, the formr Dorothy Reidenbach, whom he married Nov. 1, 1950. Also surviving are three daughters, Violet Olinger of Baltic, Mrs. Kenneth (Nancy) Regula of Fresno and Mrs. Mike (Shelly) McGuire of Ragersville; three sons, Donald (Cheryl) Weaver of Dover and Roy (Tammy) Weaver and John (Kathleen) Weaver, both of Fresno; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one brother, Atlee W. (Vera) Weaver of Apple Creek; and one sister, Lulu Miller of Apple Creek.Six sisters, one granddaughter and one great-grandson are deceased.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at 11 a.m. in Fiat St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Fiat Cemetery. Rev. Greg Clay will officiate, and burial will follow in Fiat Cemetery.
