Ernst KRECH was born in Prussia, Germany to Ernst KRECH (b. 1791). Mother is believed to have been Anna Maria Magdelena ECHENBRECHT (1789-1859). He served in the Civil War in the MO Infantry, worked security on the Pacific RR, 1st LT. under Capt. Reese, was a Justice of the Peace and owned the Pommer Gentner House for a few years. About 1850 he married Fredericke RAMSALL (1836-1896) and had at least the following children: Anna Augusta Margaretha, Ernst J., George Washington, Diana Charlotte, Emelia M., Amanda, Charlotta and Dali. After Enrst's death, Fredericke married Capt Heinrich Wohlt (Wohlt Inn Bed and Breakfast in Hermann).
