Lance McFarland, 59, of Argyle, MN, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with his family by his side.
Lance Darwin McFarland was born on February 14, 1955 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Duane and Elaine (Morberg) McFarland. He was raised in Thief River Falls where he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1973. After he graduated from high school, he moved west of Argyle where he farmed with his uncle, Vernon McFarland. On July 11, 1981, Lance married Dee Dee Larson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren. They made their home west of Argyle where they farmed. In the fall of 1997, they moved to Argyle.
He was a member Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church in Argyle and the Radio Control Car Club in Grand Forks.
Lance enjoyed snowmobiling and going to the Oslo Fish Fry. He loved spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Dee Dee McFarland of Argyle, MN; three children, Amber (Bobby) Buzick of Warren, MN, Katie McFarland (Wayne McLean) of Grand Forks, ND and Dustin McFarland of Argyle; two grandchildren, Mason and Chase Buzick; father, Duane McFarland (special friend, Arliene Brown) of St. Cloud, MN; sisters, Gwen (Terry) Lappegaard of Grand Forks, ND and Kim Ness of Green Bay, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine and two brother-in-laws, Randy Ness and Todd Larson.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Monday, May 12, 2014, at 10:00am Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church in Argyle, MN.
VISITATION: After 5:00 PM with 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Sunday at Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church in Argyle and one hour before services at the church
BURIAL: Bigwoods Lutheran Cemetery, rural Oslo, MN at a later date
