A member of Bardwell Church of Christ and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence J. Douthitt, Mrs. Lester was the widow of Clyde Lester, former state representative from Graves County.
She was a retired school teacher having taught in Bardwell, Carlisle County, New Orleans, La., and Atlanta, Ga. Mrs. Lester, a graduate of Murray State University and Bowling Green University, was the former Bardwell postmistress and a former executive secretary of the Red Cross in Jackson, Tenn.
One son, Douthitt Lester preceded her in death in 1973.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Vada Douthitt Grogan, Murray; one brother, Boone Douthitt, Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Milner Funeral Home here. Alonzo Williams and Tipton Wilcox will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
