Ezra Harrison Douthitt was born December 14, 1888, in Lynnville, Grave County, Kentucky, the son of Lawrence Jackson Lenhardt and Alice Faira "Allie" (Matlock) Douthitt.

Ezra first married Maude E. Head. Maude was born July 4, 1880, in Franklin County, Kentucky, the daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Lucinda Elizabeth "Lucy" (True) Head. Ezra and Maude had the following known children:

1. James Bryan Douthitt (1908-2001)

Ezra and Maude divorced and Maude died September 4, 1954, in Barren County, Kentucky.

Ezra then married Mary "Floy" Howard on December 25, 1909, in Graves County, Kentucky. Floy was born June 15, 1887, in Grave County, Kentucky, the daughter of William H. and Sarah Virginia (Hale) Howard. Ezra and Mary had the following known children:

2. William Howard Douthitt (1916-1916)

Floy died January 9, 1916, in Barren County, Kentucky, just five days after the birth death of their son William.

Ezra served with the U. S. Army during World War I from December 1917 to April 1919. He retired from the railroad industry. Ezra died April 1, 1975, in RIchmond County, Georgia.
