Born July 22, 1928, in Genoa, Arkansas, she was one of ten children born to the late Arthur Milton and Cecile Morton Kring.
She was reared and received her education in southwest Arkansas, graduating from Central Consolidated School in Genoa in 1946.
In May of 1951, she married William R. Howard in Stuttgart, Arkansas. Together they had two children, and shared over forty-five years of life, love and memories, until his death in 1996.
Mrs. Howard had worked as a telegraph operator and a Train Clerk for the Cotton Belt Railroad (now the Union Pacific Railroad). She worked for the Cotton Belt for over thirty years, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Howard was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church and formerly Immanuel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William R. Howard; one brother, Grady Kring; and two sisters, Bernice Johnson and LaVerne Irvin.
She is survived by her son, William, and his wife, Lou Ann, of Little Rock and daughter, Cathy; her granddaughters, Kaitlin and Rachel; three brothers, Denver, Curtis and Charles Kring; and three sisters, Angela Smith, Sylvia Green and Joyce Adams.
Service will be 10:00AM, Thursday, May 22, 2014, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend M. L. Faler officiating.
Burial will be 3:00PM, Thursday in Cedar Grove Cemetery near Texarkana, Arkansas with Reverend Wallace Edgar officiating.
