MILLERSBURG -- William Sterling "Bill" Hochstetler, 82, of Millersburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009, after an extended illness. Friends may call Friday, Dec. 4, from 5-8 p.m. at Millersburg Christian Church, where services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. Presiding will be several past and current pastors and family members. Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, is assisting the family. Donations may be made to Millersburg Christian Church, 125 N. Clay St., Millersburg 44654; or Haitian Christian Outreach, P.O. Box 1052, Mahomet, Ill. 61853. Bill was born April 19, 1927, in Walnut Creek to Whilmer and Ida (Schrock) Hochstetler, and married M. Josephine Hochstetler on Nov. 24, 1949. She survives. He was a professional sign painter for many years and owned/operated The Carpet Place until his retirement in 1994. He was a faithful 50-year member of Millersburg Christian Church, where he had served as elder and also taught the Friendship Class for the past 40 years. He was recently recognized for his work with Haitian Christian Outreach, receiving the Legacy Partner Award. Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Billi Jo (Larry) Hasemeyer, Ric (Julie) Hochstetler and Robin (Les) Roach, all of Millersburg; grandchildren, Emilie (James) Abeyta, Adam (Erin) Hasemeyer, Andrew Hasemeyer, Evan Hasemeyer, Brittny Ridenbaugh, Casey Hochstetler, Micah Roach and Caleb Roach; four great-grandchildren; a foster sister, Martha (Dale) Schrock of Walnut Creek; and extended Haitian family of RoRo (Roselin) and Eline Eustache. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant grandchildren, Michael, Gabriel and Angel Hasemeyer.
