Services for Kathy (Douglas) Seward, 57, of Minco were held Moncaay, June 30, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Minco.
Randy Scott officiated the services and burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in MInco.
Services were under the direction of the Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home in Minco.
Kathy Seward (Jeanie Kathleen Douglas) was born on May 10, 1957 at Hinton to Raymond and Jeannie (Bush) Douglas and she passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her home in Minco.
Kathy graduated from Minco High School in 1975. She gave birth to Christopher Craig Firestone, her only son in 1976. She worked at the family farm during the day and sang at night all over the country. She moved to OKC in 1988 to help manage the Oklahoma Opry. She sang back up at the Opry as an Opry Angle. She moved back to Minco where she started her career as a producer for Christian record labels. She traded her time and vocals to other artist to get free studio time. She traveled back and forth from Oklahoma to Nashville working to get a record deal. She came back to Minco and worked promotions for local dance halls in the OKC area. She moved to Loveland, TX. and worked to help develop a custom truck company, then moved to Muenster, TX. for six years to pursue the same.
In July 2004 Kathy happily married Bruce Seward. The past ten years she has lived in Minco, OK. She loved her family and grand kids dearly.
Kathy is survived by her parents Raymond and Jeannie Douglas of Minco, husband Bruce Seward of Minco, Son Chris Firestone and wife Amy of Minco; step-son Brandon Seward of Oklahoma City; step-daughter Jessica Williams and husband Judd of Minco; brother Bennie Carl Douglas and wife Andi of Yukon; and grandchildren C.J. and Alex Firestone of Minco, Kingston and Ila Williams of Minco and Sydney Seward of Durant.
We will miss you Mamma.
