Homer was a retired Truck Driver, and fondly known in the community as "The Wood Man", he worked everyday cutting and stacking fire wood. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and attended Beacon Baptist Church.
On June 5, 1954, he united in marriage to Peggie Dean Dunn, and to this union three beloved daughters were born.
Along with his parents, Homer was preceded in death by two daughters: Brenda McKeehan and Patricia Ann Warren; his three sisters: Vonie Broughton, Vada May and Martha Jackson; and by his three brothers: Roy Warren, Tommy Warren and Buster Warren.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years: Peggie Dean Warren. His daughter: Linda Johnson and husband, Jerry. His beloved son-in-law: David Mckeehan. His four grandchildren: Lisa Lindsay and husband, Dave; Malena Beth Jones and husband, Chris; Kristen Bowling and husband, Chris; and Jerry Brian Johnson. His great grandchildren: Brittany Foley and husband, Clinton; Jacob Lindsay; Weston Lindsay; Keyra Johnson; Eli Bowling; Hayden Jones; and Harrison Jones. His two great great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Emma Foley. His good friend: Steve Valentine; and many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Homer Warren will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2014 in the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Chesnut and Steve Valentine officiating.
Burial will follow in the Barbourville Cemetery on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.
Those serving as Pallbearers will be: David McKeehan, Dave Lindsay, Jacob Lindsay, Chris Jones, Greg Warren and Darrell Warren. Those serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. Martha Combs Woolum and Dr. James West; the Staff of the Pineville Community Hospital and the Knox County Hospital, Bluegrass Hospice, and his good friend: Joe Broughton.
The Warren family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home after 5:00 P.M. on Friday until the funeral hour.
