Mildred G. "Milly" Pokrzywinski, age 86 of Park River and formerly, Lankin, ND, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society of Park River.
Mildred Gladys Kezar was born July 17, 1934 to the late George and Alice (Ranum) Kezar at home in Viking, MN. She attended country school in Viking. She met Walter Pokrzywinski and they married on November 13, 1952 in Warren, MN. The couple lived in Oslo until 1962, when they moved to Lankin. Mildred was a stay at home mother during her children's school years. She worked for Welch's Bakery for 18 years, once her children all left home. Whether she was baking for a church function, planning the next family meal, or attending card club night; Mildred's love language was cooking and baking.
Mildred was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Lankin and Altar Society. Mildred and Walter loved to fish and camp. They spent much of retirement in their motor home at Lake of the Woods. Mildred loved to tend her garden, play cards, and spend time with her children and their families. Walter passed away in 2012 and shortly after, Mildred moved to the Good Samaritan Society Apartments in Park River.
Mildred is survived by her children: Sandy (Dan) Daley, Park River, ND; Randy (Sue) Pokrzywinski, Fargo, ND; and Lori Meske, Hillsboro, ND; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild; her siblings: Robert, Riley, Violet, and Marion; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Walter, and son Wayne.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Lankin, ND. There will be a walk through visitation from 10:00 -11:00 A.M. at the church. Due to COVID restrictions, capacity requirements and social distancing will be observed; masks will be required. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery of Lankin following the service.
