Hazel Preston, 56, of Sitka, died October 3 at the Paintsville Hospital after a brief illness. The daughter of Willie and Edna Johnson Lemaster, she was born December 31, 1915, in Johnson County. Survivors include her mother, her husband, John Preston, two sons, Bobby Colvin and William Colvin of Sitka, and five daughters, Lois McKinley of Dayton, OH, Lillian Gamble of Paintsville, Adeline Stambaugh, Phyllis Honeycutt, and Joyce Tackett, all of Sitka. Fifteen grandchildren and a great grandchild also survive. A sister, Mrs. Erma Chandler, lived in Baltimore, and another sister, Mrs. Hemma Lyons, in Fairborn, OH. Lonza Reed officiated at services Friday, October 6 at the Old Hood United Baptist Church. Burial was in the family cemetery at Winifred. The Jones-Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
