Hagop's wife was named Sonia Tashjian and they had four children, the youngest Kerope is known to have been born in Erzincan district, presumably Mama Hatun rather than Erzincan itself as previously thought. The other children were Arshag and Siranoush, who died in the Armenian Genocide of 1915, and Haroutune who survived and escaped across the frontier with Russia. Kerope joined the resistence to the Turks and was an officer who fought in the Defense of Hadjin and later moved to the United States.
