They then made their way to Florence, NB.
Zeda was a Mormon wagon trail pioneer. She crossed the plains w/ Ansil Harmon Co., leaving Aug. 1, 1862 & arriving Oct 5th. She was 8 years old, traveling with her mother, father, and siblings. She grew up in Provo.
On June 18, 1872 she married Emil S. Lund, a native of Denmark, in Salt Lake. A few children were born in Provo.
The family moved to Grass Valley, CA in abt. 1887. Sadly, on June 10, 1897 while on a short trip to San Francisco, she had a heart attack & died. She was only 43 years old. She left 10 children for Emil to raise.
Emil moved back to Salt Lake. The 4 youngest children moved in with their grandparents, Eber & Ann who helped raise them before their deaths in 1909. Sadly, the youngest, Harold Thorvald Lund, died of typhoid fever at age 11 in Provo. It must have broken their hearts.
Zeda is buried beside her husband. Although he died in Salt Lake, he requested to be taken to Oakland to be buried beside his loving wife.
