Arnold was killed in action by small arms fire near Hill 1338 [Battle of the Slopes} on 6-27-1967 while serving as a Light-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic with Co. D of the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Pfc. Arnold started his tour of Vietnam on 3-9-1967.

Pfc. Arnold is the beloved son of Mrs. Rosella Arnold of 19 Cedar Lane Court, Greenville, South Carolina.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
