Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding. Burial will follow at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the church.
Violet Pauline Simpson was born August 6, 1933 in Lowefarm, Manitoba, the daughter of Dewey and Elsa (Greening) Simpson. She was raised in the Assembly Of God Church and later in life joined the Catholic Church. As a young girl, Violet moved with her family to Arvilla, ND, Emerado, ND, and later to Angus, MN where they purchased a farm. She attended high school in Warren, MN.
Violet was united in marriage to Lloyd Lenhart of Radium, MN on September 7, 1952 in Warren, MN. The couple made their home in Warren, MN and in 1975 moved to rural Angus where they had a hobby farm. In 1993 they moved to Thief River Falls. Violet enjoyed being a homemaker and tending to her family.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Violet enjoyed most being with her family and visiting with friends. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, canning, raising a big garden, watching TV, and listening to Christian music. Violet would always be concerned about others before herself.
Survivors include her loving sons, David (Geraldine) Lenhart of Warren, MN and Timothy Lenhart of Crookston, MN; grandchildren, Tanya Mock, Michael (Jamie) Lenhart, Matthew (Susan) Lenhart, Christina Lenhart; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Autum, Austin, Hannah, Olivia, Caida, Analise, Jared, Justin; sister, Mildred Metcalf of Angus, MN; sister-in-law, Lucy Simpson of Thief River Falls, MN; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd in 2011; son, James in 2005; brother, Archie Simpson; and her parents.
