1820 Census Records for Delaware County, Ohio (series M33, roll 89, page 153) include 6 free white males under 10 years in the household of John McLeod, who lived in Genoa Township.216 These boys appear to be Alfred age 8, Edward age 5, George age 4, Ingels age 3, Charles age 1, and Turner newborn.

[Ingels McLeod, deceased; was born in Kentucky, in July,1817; when about 14 years old, became with his parents to Ohio, and located in Genoa Township. On his 22d birthday, he was married to Hetty Roberts, daughter of John and Nancy Roberts; born Nov 18, 1821, and remained with her parents until her marriage to Mr. McLeod. He was not only prominent in the business circles, but in the social and religious as well. For sixteen years, he was class-leader in the M.E. Church, and for a number of years had been Superintendent of the Sunday school. They had three children, all of whom survive their Father. Mrs. McLeod remained on the homestead with her children until 1870, when she moved on the farm, where she now lives in the house with her mother, Mrs. Roberts.]
