Laura, dau of Gideon and Patience Coswill (or Cogswell) Beaman, was born in Litchfield, CT. She married Ira Standish, son of Hadley & Abigail Garnet Standish, a direct descendant of Myles Standish. She bore six children; Hadley, Caroline, Orrin, Myron, Hiram and Gideon. Ira remarried and moved to Lowell Michigan, where he died.
