Dan Meade age 96 of Mine Fork Road, Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Kentucky. He was born August 21, 1920 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to the late Martin "Mart" and Genoah "Genny" Blanton Meade.

Besides Dan's parents he is preceded in death by his first wife Pearl Bolen Meade, one son Danny R. Meade, three brothers Bill Meade, Jack Meade and James Richard Meade and two sisters Arelene Conley and Vesta Jenkins.

Dan was a Military Veteran serving with the U.S. Army.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday, August 24, 2016 from the Magoffin County Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Meade Cemetery at Flat Fork, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6 pm Monday, August 22, 2016, all day Tuesday and anytime Wednesday prior to funeral services.

There will be military rites given by the Salyersville D.A.V. Chapter 15 the day of services.
