Troula (Kourkos) Kinnamon

Troula ''Kourkos'' Kinnamon, 94, of Independence passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her home.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence a private family graveside service will be held at 1:00 p. m. April 29, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence, with the Reverend Harold Groth of the First Christian Church officiating.
The family has suggested memorials to the Eastern Star or the First Christian Church of Independence and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Troula was born November 24, 1921 in Independence, Kansas the daughter of John P. and Lucy H. (Renaudin) Kourkos. She grew up in Independence and attended the Independence School System.
On August 3, 1941 in Independence Troula was united in marriage to Edward F. Kinnamon and the couple made their home in Independence. Edward preceded her in death.
Troula was a homemaker. She was a member of the Independence VFW for sixty years the American Leigon also for sixty years the Eastern Star for forty five years. Troula was a member of the Social order of the (Bosheon), First Christian Church, Lida, CWF Christian Church, Independence Museum, Future Planners, Cub Scout Leader, and Daughter of the Niles (Masonic).
Survivors include one son Stanley (Stan) Kinnamon and wife Kathy of Independence, KS. One brother Teddy P. Kourkos and wife Grace of San Jose, CA. five grandchildren Christy Jo. Malone, Brian Edward Kinnamon, Libbie Pullium, Mandy Lee Parrett, Michael Cain Kinnamon and twelve great grandchildren.
Troula was preceded in death by her husband Edward F. Kinnamon two brothers Sammy Kourkos and Billy R. Kourkos two sisters Helen Braden, Georgie Dulohery one son Sammy Kinnamon and her parents.
