Georgia L. Dulohery, 81, of Parsons, Kansas, died at 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons, Kansas. Death followed a lengthy period of failing health.

She was born November 17, 1926, in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of John and Lucy (Renaudin) Kourkos.

She grew up in Independence and graduated from Independence High School.

On February 15, 1947 she and Joseph V. Dulohery were married at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Independence, Kansas. Mr.

The family lived in Independence, Pittsburg and Parsons during their marriage. Mr. Dulohery preceded her in death on December 10, 1980.

She was a loving, kind, caring woman. She had such a love of life, which she fought for until she died. She had a wonderful circle of friends that gave her a great deal of companionship, camaraderie and support. For the past 50 years during the school months, she played pinnacle with a great circle of friends. Even in her failing health she still managed to make it to the card game every other Wednesday night.

In her later years, Georgia had a wonderful group of friends with whom she loved to travel, gamble and play golf with. She loved to camp and enjoyed many camping and fishing trips to Roaring River in the Ozarks.

Georgia was most passionate about her family. Her parents immigrated to the United States from Europe, so she did not grow up with a large extended family. She was probably most proud of her five children, their families and their accomplishments. She was very involved in her children and grandchildren's lives.
