Dallas Society of General Surgeons (1946)When surgeons returned to Dallas from World War II, a small group met to form a society of surgeons to be called the Dallas Society of General Surgeons whose members limited their practice to general surgery as opposed to subspecialty practice. The organization started January 7, 1946, with the following 17 charter members, many of whom were on the Baylor staff
