Born to James Burnsed (abt 1803-1850) and Mary (aka Molly or Polly) Dukes (abt 1805 - ????). The 1900 census provides her date of birth as January 1832 and also as June 1836; her death cert estimates 1831 as the year of her birth. Various census records estimate her yob as 1833 or 1835.
She had four children: Mary A Burnsed (1856-1933, Find a Grave Memorial: 84284148), James Buchanan "Buck" Burnsed (1859-1936, Find a Grave Memorial: 8430657), Zylphia Burnsed (1862-1932, Find a Grave Memorial:168880782), and George W. Burnsed Sr. (1875-1951, Find a Grave Memorial: 126678671). All four children went by her maiden name, Burnsed. Mary A. & Zylphia's death records indicate both were daughters of Cyntha Burnsed and a man named Jack HARVEY. In 1880 Census Buck and Zylphia's father is noted as having been born in GA, same as Cyntha. But George's father was said to be born in North Carolina. Son Buck was born in between the girls, so my original presumption was is that Buck also was a son of Jack. However, DNA (Research from 2022 and 2023 leans towards someone who was both a DRAWDY and a PRINE descendant possibly being both GW's biological father or grandfather as well as Buck's.
Cynthia's death record indicates she was born in Bulloch County, GA and died in Baker County, FL. Her name on death record is spelled "Sayntha Bournsed."
